About Daniel K Tanui

Daniel K Tanui is the Group Managing Director at Mitchell Cotts Group. With over 30 years of progressive experience in the logistics industry, he is a highly meticulous, data-driven leader who strives for quantifiable results.

As a Qualified Accountant (CPAK) with a Master’s degree in Strategic Management, Daniel is adept in providing leadership and direction to continuously improve business performance. He was instrumental in setting up the CFS’s in Kenya and was involved in putting together the CFS Governance regulation.

He is a member of relevant trade and professional institutions such as EATTA, Kenya Chamber of Commerce, ICPAK, KIM, AEO, Shippers Council of Eastern Africa, American Chambers of Commerce, Kenya Flower Council, Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya, and upholds industry standards through membership in international networks like Link Global, MiPharma, Conqueror, WCA, and IATA.

His goals for Mitchell Cotts Group are focused on exploring new technologies and solutions to improve operations, overseeing the development of a fulfilment centre that meets specific needs, and strengthening regional reach to drive growth and success for the company in the region. He is committed to embracing ESG practices and integrating them into the company’s core business strategies, including goals, policies, and risk management practices.

To demonstrate the company’s commitment to SDG 13 (Climate Action), Daniel’s team is supporting the global 1 trillion Trees Reforestation Agenda by committing to planting a minimum of 10 million trees by 2030. This initiative will support Kenya’s vital ecosystem and foster sustainable livelihoods for local communities where the company operates.
